A Letter From the Association President
Greetings fellow FarmHouse brothers! It is my distinct pleasure to be leading your alumni organization as we move towards the end of another successful year with the active chapter members and the house. I am constantly reminded of the great work and success that the members of this body are achieving, both personally and professionally. I hope this newsletter finds you well!
The physical structure remains in excellent condition and has become an excellent tool in working towards our mission – Builders of Men. As in years past, we’ve brought in various professionals over the summer to maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of the house including painters, HVAC technicians, landscapers and cleaners. We are extremely fortunate to have an active chapter that has tremendous respect for the facility as well, and they continue doing a great job of keeping everything looking great. As always, please know you are welcome to visit the chapter at any time!
In 2013 a vision committee was formed to explore the construction of a new chapter house. In 2014, a capital campaign was introduced to begin fundraising. After eight years of soliciting donations, we officially closed the campaign at the end of 2022. In that time, we collected more than $4.4 million dollars which represents more than 98% of all dollars pledged. Thank you to each and everyone that helped make the new facility a reality!
Now in 2023, the Association Board is exploring ideas on how to take the Nebraska FarmHouse chapter to the next level. With the changing ways of the college student today, as well as the need to fund various initiatives around the house, your board is interested in studying what another campaign might look like. As such, we have once again partnered with Pennington & Co to begin the initial steps of launching a new campaign. In the coming months, Pennington may be reaching out to you, looking to conduct some initial research and feedback. Please don’t hesitate to share your honest thoughts and feelings with them. And as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions or comments!
The Brotherhood Committee has been hard at work this year, planning events for bringing both alumni and active members together. 2023 saw the return of our Alumni Formal, Barners Ball, Alumni Golf Tournament and Homecoming Reunion. The events saw outstanding attendance, including a completely full field of players at the tournament. Congrats to the winning alumni team which included: Grant Bonifas, Grant Grzywa, Garret Elfeldt and Caden Schuster. Be on the lookout for both Barners Ball and 2024 Conclave information in the near future. Conclave will be hosted in Omaha July 18-21, 2024, with the Nebraska Chapter hosting a welcome dinner July 17.
Thank you for your work in supporting Nebraska FarmHouse!
Respectfully,
Jeff Dannehl (Nebraska 05)
