Bylaws, Policies & Manuals

Whether you are a FarmHouse member or someone interested in learning more about our Fraternity, a number of resources are detailed and linked below that will introduce you to our bylaws, policies and manuals.

Builder of Men Affirmation

The FarmHouse Ritual, the Builder of Men Affirmation, was presented by the 2006 Conclave Ritual Review Committee in Nashville, Tennessee and fully adopted in 2008. The Ritual was updated in 2016 to reflect the new mark of FarmHouse Fraternity. At the 2017 FarmHouse Leadership Institute, every chapter president was presented with a bound copy of the Builder of Men Affirmation for his respective chapter’s use, along with the materials necessary, to properly conduct FarmHouse Ritual. Every chapter is expected to follow the Ritual and its ceremonies. Replacement or individual bound copies of the Builder of Men Affirmation may be purchased by contacting the International headquarters.

Philosophy of Respect

Adopted by the International Executive Board in 2019, the Philosophy of Respect asserts the Fraternity’s position on the respect and dignity of members and non-members alike. It defines our expectations of FarmHouse men and holds the Fraternity accountable to the campus communities FarmHouse calls home.

Bylaws

The 2018-20 International Bylaws of FarmHouse Fraternity is the governing document for the work of the Fraternity, its Board, staff, chapters, associations and members. Bylaws are reviewed biennially and if necessary amended by the voting delegates of each biennial Conclave. Local bylaws are to comply with the Fraternity’s International Bylaws.

DEI Statement

The diversity, equity and inclusion statement for all FarmHouse Members, Chapters, Associations and Staff was updated in August 2021. The Fraternity’s educational programs, resources and staff visits help members understand and embody this statement and our values. FarmHouse is committed to upholding the values outlined in our diversity, equity and inclusion statement. If you believe there has been a hate/bias incident involving a FarmHouse member or chapter, please submit an incident report.

NIC Alcohol and Drug Policy

Starting on September 1, 2019, NIC member organizations were asked to determine if they are consistent with official NIC Alcohol and Drug guidelines, linked below. Member organizations are responsible for enforcing their own policies; the NIC does not play a role in policy enforcement.

Insurance Claims Manual

This manual is intended to give you an understanding of the insurance coverage provided under the Fraternity’s insurance program. It also includes information to help you properly report all actual and potential insurance claims and assist you in locating other useful resources that you may find beneficial in your chapter or alumni organization’s efforts to minimize your exposure to risk. Responsibility for the success in risk management rests with your chapter and members.

Member & Chapter Policy Manual

This policy manual is provided to FarmHouse chapters, associate chapters, associations, advisors, house mothers/directors, volunteers and staff as a resource for understanding the policies and positions of FarmHouse International Fraternity, which apply to individual members, chapters and associations. As deemed necessary and appropriate, the International Executive Board (IEB) of Directors will draft and adopt policy, with updated versions of this manual distributed to chapter and association leadership.
