Jon Dobson

Retired Corporate Secretary & Associate General Counsel — TransCanada PipeLines GP, Inc.

Jon is an attorney and former legal executive in the oil and gas, diversified manufacturing and grocery wholesale and retail sectors. He began his career 1992 as an associate in the corporate and securities group of Lindquist & Vennum (now Ballard Spahr) working on mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions, including the St. Jude Medical acquisition of Siemens AG’s pacemaker division and initial public offerings for American Brewing Company, Canterbury Downs, Kaiser Steel and other companies.

In 1995, he was recruited by BMC Industries, Inc., a NYSE diversified manufacturing company, to establish its in-house legal department. Dobson was appointed general counsel and secretary of BMC in 1997 and vice president, general counsel and secretary in 1999. He also served as interim vice president of human resources from 1999 to 2001. While at BMC, Dobson led legal efforts for BMC’s successful acquisitions of Monsanto’s Orcolite division and Optical Manufacturing Supplies Limited, construction of new domestic facilities and expansions of manufacturing into Indonesia, Hungary and Mexico. He also implemented the substantial corporate governance and internal control requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Dobson returned to private practice in 2005, concentrating on corporate and securities law matters. In 2008, he accepted a client’s request that he join Nash-Finch Company (now SpartanNash), a Fortune 500 grocery wholesale distributor and retailer, as vice president and assistant general counsel to lead several corporate and legal projects. Dobson served two years in this role, implementing corporate initiatives on Section 409A compliance, corporate records and recordkeeping compliance. unclaimed property, corporate and board governance, securities law compliance, resolution of off-balance sheet items and the acquisition of GSC Enterprises.

In 2010, Dobson relocated to Texas and, in 2011, was named associate general counsel and United States corporate secretary by TransCanada Corporation (now TC Energy Corporation), a TSX and NYSE energy group. From 2014 to 2021, he also served on the executive team for TC PipeLines, LP, a NYSE natural gas pipeline publicly traded partnership sponsored by TransCanada. Based in Houston, Dobson was responsible for corporate and securities legal matters, U.S. mergers and acquisitions, corporate and board governance, public disclosure and joint-ventures. Dobson served on the board of directors of the Keystone Pipeline, Ravenswood Power Plant, ANR Pipeline and the TransCanada Pension. He also oversaw TC Energy’s political action committee, foundation and endangered species trust. Shortly after his 55th birthday, Dobson retired from TC Energy in 2022.

Since leaving TC Energy, Dobson has been a private investor and, as of the beginning of 2024, the general manager of Sioux Falls Thunder FC, a National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) team he owns with other family members. He also serves on a governance committee of the NPSL and deploys with the ASPCA to rescue animals from disaster zones and other emergencies.

Dobson is a member of the New York and Minnesota bar. He sits on an in-house securities law advisory panel and mentors young in-house attorneys through the Association of Corporate Counsel. He earned his bachelor of arts in history and economics, with high honors, from South Dakota State University in 1989 and his JD, with Sterling Honor, from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1992. From August 1991 to December 1991, Dobson studied international law in London, England at the University of Detroit-Mercy London Law Program.

Christian Wiggins

Outgoing Executive Director and CEO

Christian Wiggins is FarmHouse Fraternity’s outgoing Executive Director and CEO. Christian’s skills, abilities and deep understanding of college campuses, fraternity/sorority life and FarmHouse’s ambitions advanced the Fraternity quickly and effectively while developing a team of highly-capable staff.

Prior to FarmHouse, Christian served as Chief Operating Officer for Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity where he managed operations, expansion and growth, training and education, communications, technology and lifelong member engagement. In his nine years as COO, he led a staff who more than doubled student membership, facilitated a successful organization re-brand, partnered with the Foundation to raise more than $9.3 million in major gifts and led the organization through a strategic plan and crafted and implemented another. Prior to his most recent role, he served the Fraternity as Director of Alumni Services and as a Hotel Operations Supervisor for Harrah’s Entertainment.

Wiggins holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina-Darla Moore School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management from the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University in North Carolina. Over the course of his career, Wiggins has served on more than a dozen non-profit boards, including current service as board chair for Campus Pride, the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors Foundation and the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Leadership. He has given more than a decade of volunteer service at multiple levels with his Alma Mater.

He spent most of his childhood in rural western North Carolina with his grandparents and attempts to make it home five times a year to keep his close connection with his family. In his spare time Wiggins enjoys time with friends, traveling, cheering on a number of collegiate and professional sports teams, reading (especially biographies and works of history), staying active in his community, playing with his labrador Lumen and studying political science.

Craig Harris

Craig lives in Shenandoah, Iowa, with his wife, Kathy, and has two children, Dr. Shannon Harris, M.D. of St. Paul, Minnesota and Dr. Chad Harris, EdD (Iowa 98) of Kansas City, Missouri.

Upon completing his bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University in 1968, Craig spent five years as a pilot on active duty in the United States Air Force and an additional four years in the Air Force Reserves. Most of his flying during the Vietnam War was piloting C-141 aircraft out of McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. Craig returned to Iowa State and earned a master’s degree in agriculture economics and began his 40-plus-year career in farm management and real estate appraisal. He first joined The Sandage Company (Duane Sandage, Iowa State 47) as a farm manager and real estate agent. During this time, he served as a member of the Iowa FarmHouse Association and became involved with the Iowa chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, an association founded by FarmHouse Founder, D. Howard Doane (Missouri 1905). Craig and Kathy moved to Page County, Iowa in 1979 to join FarmHouse brother Phil Gibson (Iowa State 66) and his family in farming with Gibson Farms, Inc. In 1985 Craig helped start Agra Partners Central as a real estate, farm management and appraisal company. In 1991 he joined Farmers National Company, then Farm Credit Services of America in 2001 as a full-time farm land appraiser. He retired from there in 2016. He now owns his own business, Harris Appraisal Services. During his appraising career, he worked with the USDA and USAID leading delegations to the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic to teach courses on farm management, real estate appraisal and real estate brokerage.

Craig was named a FarmHouse Master Builder in 2020. He served on the Fraternity’s International Executive Board from 2000-2006 and became a Foundation Trustee in December 2020. Craig has served on the First United Methodist Church of Shenandoah board of trustees, the Shenandoah Medical Center Foundation board, the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association board of directors as well as other local organizations. Craig and Kathy, recently celebrated 56 years of marriage, and are lifelong supporters of Iowa State University.

Eric brings to the team experience, a deep understanding of the industry, intelligence, vision, and passion. Eric believes strongly in a value-based approach to wealth planning, advising clients with an integrated approach that spans investment consulting, estate planning, philanthropic planning, risk management and expert relationship management. He also has 25 years of experience with investment manager due diligence, portfolio construction, asset allocation and alternative investment analysis.

Eric started working on Wall Street in Solomon Brother’s Sales and trading program in New York City. He has served as a financial advisor to wealthy families since 1995, when he began his career at Montgomery Securities in the private client department. In 1998, he joined Salomon Smith Barney, where he founded and built the venture group. Before founding Three Bridge, he was a senior wealth director and senior vice president at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. During his tenure with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Eric participated at Stanford University’s executive education program that was offered only to top advisors. Before Citi’s merger with Morgan Stanley, he was a senior wealth director at Citi family office, a division of Citigroup formed to serve the wealthiest and most sophisticated clients of the firm.

Eric holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a bachelor of science in agricultural honors, with high distinction, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He holds a certified investment management analyst (cima) designation administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with the Wharton school. Eric is the current chair of the International Farmhouse Foundation Board of trustees.

A committed industry leader, Eric is a member of the inaugural JP Morgan ria advisory council, and is considered a thought leader in the industry, having been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Registered Rep Magazine, Investment and Wealth Monitor, and has been interviewed on the wall street journal radio network.
