Idaho FarmHouse Association
Dear Idaho FarmHouse brothers,
On behalf of your Idaho FarmHouse Association Board, I’m writing to update you on an exciting and critical moment in our chapter’s history. As many of you know, the Idaho Chapter faced a difficult closure in 2020 due to a variety of challenges. Over the past four years, we’ve worked tirelessly to position the chapter for a fresh start—thanks in no small part to the financial contributions you made during our last capital campaign.
Your generosity made it possible to begin restoring the chapter house, and I’m proud to share we’ve made significant progress. In the document linked below “Idaho Rebuild and Restart” is a breakdown of how your $750,000 in contributions have been invested, alongside before-and-after photos showcasing the transformation. While we’ve come a long way, our work is far from done.
First and foremost, thank you for your past contributions, your valuable feedback and your unwavering dedication to FarmHouse. We’ve heard your concerns about communication, and we’re committed to improving the transparency and timeliness of our updates and acknowledgments moving forward.
The next phase of our efforts is crucial and we cannot afford to wait.
We are now working to raise the remaining funds and ask for your help. We estimate it will cost in the $595,000 range, to complete the renovation and create a fully livable, safe and attractive living/learning facility for current and future members. The International Fraternity has granted the Idaho Chapter a provisional charter, and we have 21 months to build a strong, sustainable membership base by August 2026. With our 70-year legacy of alumni support, I’m confident we can rise to this challenge—but we need your help now more than ever to ensure a sustainable Fraternity for years to come.
Now is the time to act. Let us truly demonstrate the strength of our Idaho brotherhood.
We’ve already completed essential upgrades to the chapter house’s common areas, but there’s still much more to be done to create a welcoming and fully functional space for prospective members. We are at a critical crossroads, but we are well on our way. Last Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, we initiated nine new members. Our goal is reaching 34 members by August 2026. We need to address these urgent priorities to ensure the chapter can attract and retain new brothers.
On a personal note, the June 27 passing of my father, Tom Stroschein (Idaho 57)—a beloved charter member—has deepened my resolve to see this effort through. Eulogizing his legacy in the UI Auditorium reminded me of the impact FarmHouse has had on generations of young men, including him and me.
In July, while in Moscow, I toured the chapter house which furthered my resolve. It’s up to us to carry the torch forward for future generations, honoring the legacy of our valued alumni who are no longer with us. We want to ensure we can continue to be the Fraternity of “Builders of Men” on the Idaho campus. While I may not be able to physically help with the renovations from my home in Virginia, I am fully committed to leading this Idaho FarmHouse Fraternity Rebuild and Restart 2024-2026 Campaign.
Our future depends on this, and your role is vital—whether through financial support, hands-on involvement or by connecting us with potential new members in your community. Your involvement matters!
Will you join us in making sure the Idaho Chapter doesn’t just survive—but thrives?
Below, we’ve outlined the next steps, cost assessments and opportunities for you to contribute. Please take a moment to review them and consider how you can be part of this legacy-building effort.
The Idaho Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity has shaped the lives of countless men—including you and me. Help us ensure future generations have the same opportunity to experience its lasting impact.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and prayers. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and, more importantly, to working together to make this vision a reality.
Fraternally,
Steven W. Stroschein (Idaho 92)
