FarmHouse partners with PCI for FarmHouse Oral History Project
November 15, 2023
Why did you join FarmHouse? What is your most memorable FarmHouse experience? Did a chapter brother or alumnus influence you in a meaningful way? Did you make friends for life, discover your career path, or even meet your future spouse through FarmHouse?
We want to hear your FarmHouse story, and our FH Oral History Project seeks to capture those for future generations.
We have partnered with Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI) to produce a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our organization by creating a unique oral history archive to tell the stories of our members across generations, chapters, professions, geography and life experiences. All of your amazing stories will be converted from audio recordings to written stories to be shared with all of our members.
Beginning in November 2023, PCI will reach out to FarmHouse members seeking stories and requesting updated contact information. This is the same company who has previously produced our popular hardcover FarmHouse Alumni Directory. You will soon receive a postcard with a 1-800 number inviting you to call them to participate.
The PCI staff is trained to capture FarmHouse memories and will lead you through the process of telling your FarmHouse story. Each story will be recorded, transcribed, and, along with submitted photos, published in a book along with an electronic version available for purchase. No purchase is required to share your FarmHouse memory.
“This is a great opportunity for us to connect with our brothers to preserve special FarmHouse memories for future generations and offer a one-of-a-kind keepsake to our brotherhood,” Dave Hansen (Iowa State 90), Fraternity executive director and CEO said. “Every memory shared by our members contributes to the rich narrative of FarmHouse and we encourage all alumni to take part in this meaningful project.”
Sharing your memories will ensure FarmHouse’s rich history will be preserved for generations to come and help inspire new young men to join our Fraternity. Thank you for your participation!
