Communications Intern
Reports to: Director of Communications
FLSA Category: Exempt, Part-Time, 5-10 hours per week
Location: Remote
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrollment at an accredited institution, preferably with a FarmHouse chapter. Membership in FarmHouse strongly preferred.
- Experience creating digital content for social media platforms, print design, or other communications and marketing experience
- Proven communication skills — ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, alumni and friends of FarmHouse.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Communications Intern is responsible for creating, developing and scheduling digital media content including but not limited to, social media, email marketing, chapter expansion, recruitment and Fraternity event promotion(s).
This individual is expected to create eye-catching content that showcases FarmHouse Fraternity and adheres to brand standards. We are seeking someone who demonstrates self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking when contributing to projects and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
85% – Digital Media: Develop, create and collect for digital media including but not limited to social media, chapter expansion, recruitment and Fraternity event promotion(s). Collaboration with team members for planning and written content purposes. Support Director of Communications in performance reporting, including identification of top and bottom posts, documentation of creative and finalizing reporting output.
10% – Recruitment/Expansion/Brand Awareness: Proactively identify opportunities that showcase FarmHouse’s points of distinction, programs, people and resources using print, video, or other means to tell the Fraternities story. Develop and contribute to communications plans as needed.
5% – Collaboration: Assist in building an environment of collaboration and teamwork in the Fraternity and beyond. Meet with Fraternity and Foundation staff as well as external vendors/partners as appropriate. Regularly gather stakeholder feedback and incorporate edits into communications materials. Other duties as assigned.
