The Director of Alumni Engagement and Volunteer Support shall be a direct report to the CEO of the Fraternity. The position is responsible for the organization’s alumni event strategy; Conclave management; volunteer recruitment, management, coaching, evaluation and recognition functions; alumni communication content generation for Pearls & Rubies and social media; and, alumni association development and support.

Experience Required
  • Proven results in events planning and execution.
  • Financial management with attention to developing and delivering programs on a budget.

  • Work or volunteer experience dependent on developing a strong volunteer network.
  • Experience delivering feedback to peers or volunteers.
  • Strong communication skills, including a focus on public speaking and written communication.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to resolve issues and problems with little oversight and direction.
  • Strong inclination to collaborate and a committed team player.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
Experience Preferred
  • Professional experience managing a volunteer network.
  • Successfully planned and executed events at a local, regional, and national level.
  • Certification as a meeting planner through a reputable association.
  • Membership in FarmHouse Fraternity.
Job Responsibilities
  • Alumni Event Strategy
    • Develops event strategy for chapter, association and national events consistent with Fraternity volunteer recruitment, alumni engagement and Foundation needs.
    • Plans events including site selection, budget management, event program, etc.
    • Supports Director of Marketing and Communication to market events.
    • Serves as on-site lead for events, as needed, or coordinates support for other staff and/or volunteers.
  • Conclave (Convention) Management
    • Assists CEO with request for proposal process and site selection.
    • Develops and manages Conclave budget.
    • Supports Director of Marketing and Communication in building registration process and event marketing plan.
    • Assists Director of Education and Leadership Development in creating compelling education offerings to students and alumni.
    • Responsible for driving attendance goals and performance.
  • Volunteer Management
    • Assists CEO in developing, executing and documenting a volunteer recruitment, management, coaching, evaluation and recognition program.
    • Researches and implements best practices for standard volunteer management, operating policies and procedures.
    • Leads organization’s efforts to clarify and streamline the current volunteer model.
    • Updates position descriptions for all volunteer roles.
    • Supports Director of Marketing and Communication in annual volunteer appreciation strategy.
    • Supports Director of Chapter Services and Fraternity Growth through targeted volunteer recruitment strategy that focuses on high-level needs first.
  • Alumni Communication Content Generation
    • Collaborates with Director of Marketing and Communication on alumni news for Pearls & Rubies and social media.
    • Coordinates alumni content with local associations and chapters for website, newsletters, Pearls & Rubies, etc.
  • Alumni Association Development and Support
    • Assists the CEO in developing an association performance system that helps the organization assess and identify volunteer and resource needs.
    • Provides support to local volunteer leaders on best practices in association management.
    • Creates and maintains an association file on each local organization.
    • Collaborates with Director of Education and Volunteer Support to develop and deliver association-specific resources and training.
    • Assists with administering the organization’s student to alumni transition process including record managements and events.
