FarmHouse hires Shane Jacques as Director of Education and Leadership Development
FarmHouse is excited to announce Shane Jacques as the newest addition to the FH Headquarters team. He will serve in a new role for the Fraternity as the Director of Education and Leadership Development. Shane will be responsible for the organization’s education philosophy, content generation, delivery and execution. More specifically, in this position he will develop all content for existing and future leadership conferences, new member and total member education, emerging chapter education, risk prevention programming, as well as volunteer and staff development. His role is also the first director funded by an educational grant from the FarmHouse Foundation.
Chief Executive Officer Christian Wiggins said, “We are pleased to welcome Shane to the FarmHouse family. He brings with him extensive experience in curriculum development and young adult learning. I can’t wait to see how he helps mark progress in our education efforts.”
Shane spent the last ten years with the National FFA Organization, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of educational programming for state-level leaders in all fifty states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. During his time with FFA, he led a multi-phase revision of their curriculum by aligning content to eleven key focus areas, each measured by a series of performance indicators. Shane championed a blended learning approach through online learning modules and served as the editor of FFA’s semi-annual leadership magazine, Bright Ideas. He also re-branded the organization’s international leadership seminar through the creation of learning objectives, pre- and post-assessment and reflective experiences.
“I am excited to lend my expertise to the mission of FARMHOUSE,” said Shane. “The line from the FarmHouse Object that reminds us that ‘progress shall mark our every step’ resonates deeply with my desire for continuous improvement. I look forward to honoring the rich history of the Fraternity while capitalizing on new educational opportunities to enhance our ability to be the ‘Builder of Men’ for which the Fraternity is known.”
Shane holds a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. In 2014, he was recognized with their Outstanding Young Alumnus Achievement Award. He is a Certified Master Instructional Designer through the Association for Talent Development, has achieved Level I Certification from the Cultural Intelligence Center, and successfully completed the Gallup Organization’s Certificate in Strengths-Based Education program.
A native of Rhode Island, Shane enjoys keeping pace with trends in the learning and development industry, visiting U.S. Presidential Libraries, traveling domestically and abroad, and keeping tabs on his young nephew.
