FarmHouse at Mississippi State

Welcome to FarmHouse at Mississippi State University! Our chapter here was founded on being a Builder of Men, and we have a long legacy of doing just that. Since 1964, we have been dedicated to building men Intellectually, Spiritually, Socially/Morally, and Physically. This means we dedicate ourselves to constant improvement both as students and as leaders in our community.

Do you have to be an agricultural major to join FarmHouse?

A man does not have to be an Agricultural Major in order to join FarmHouse. The origins of FarmHouse Fraternity trace back to seven students at the University of Missouri. They started FarmHouse Fraternity with hopes to promote their mutual interests through genuine fellowship. For them, agriculture was a part of their background and area of study. Since then, FarmHouse has expanded membership to all undergrads who are men of integrity and accept and embrace the ideals of the fraternity.

Why don't you have Greek Letters?

When we were originally founded, the men who started our organization joined together with a strong moral compass and the idea of bettering their fellowship. They wanted a values-based organization and found that the Greek-lettered organizations of their time were lacking in this. Our founders grew an organization of agriculture and faith-based men into what is now our Fraternity. When the idea to adopt Greek letters came along, it was decided we would stick to our roots in reverence to why we started and how. To learn more about why the name FARMHOUSE, click here.

What are your values?

FARMHOUSE is actually an acronym and stands for many of the things we hold near and dear. It stands for Faith, Ambition, Reverence, Morality, Honesty, Obedience, Unity, Service, and Excellence. To learn more about our morals and values, and what we are all about, click here.

What kind of man is FarmHouse looking for?

FarmHouse Fraternity is looking for men who are well-rounded individuals that aim to better themselves. We extend invitations of membership to men who reflect our values, excel in our four pillars and show the initiative to develop and improve as individuals.

I heard about the "four pillars" or "four-fold development", what is that?

In FarmHouse, our objective is to build the whole man through four-fold development: Intellectually, Spiritually, Socially/Morally and Physically – the four pillars of our Fraternity. Every semester we each set goals on how to improve ourselves in each area.

FarmHouse is a life-changing opportunity that we hope to continue to provide for many more generations of collegiate men. By filling out the form below you are making no commitment; we want you to get as much information as possible so you can be sure FH is the right fit.
