A message from the Chairman

Randy LinvilleForty years ago when FarmHouse Foundation was established, Lyndon Johnson was president, the first Star Trek episode aired and a first class stamp cost just five cents. How far we've come and how many accomplishments we've had to celebrate since that time! It's difficult to believe that the 40 th anniversary of the Foundation is already in our rearview mirror as we continue forward on or journey of “Building the Leaders of Tomorrow.”

In addition to our 40th anniversary, we've had many other accomplishments to celebrate in 2006-07:

The outstanding commitment and generosity of our donors continued to drive our fundraising momentum even after Campaign 2005 ended, resulting in raising more funds in 2006-07 than were raised during any one year of the Campaign itself.
Over 1,710 members made a gift to the Foundation, and we had a record-breaking 2,831 gifts in total given to the Foundation.
Annual support for the 2007 FarmHouse Leadership Academy increased by 27 percent compared to 2006, and more than 120 undergraduate chapter officers participated in this fully-funded conference, preparing them to become the next leaders of their chapters.
We successfully transitioned executive directors for both the Fraternity and the Foundation. Our new leaders, Chad Harris and Allison Rickels, have high potential and work extremely well with others. This successful transition was a critical success factor for both groups. We were blessed by Jim Griffith's leadership at the Fraternity for nearly a decade and Bob Off's at the Foundation, where he is now well into a fourth decade in his current capacity as Executive Director Emeritus.
The Farmhouse Foundation made grants totaling nearly $94,000 to the International Fraternity and to individual chapters for programs in Leadership, People Skills, and Financial Management Training.
A total of $86,000 was administered under the Foundation's auspices for the education portion of new or renovated chapter houses on three campuses.
$37,930 was distributed back to our chapters' foundation councils for their specific educational uses and needs.
Over 60 undergraduates received an academic scholarship from the FarmHouse Foundation, totaling $31,550.
$11,919 was granted to four chapters and associations to improve computer and affiliated technology in their respective chapter houses.
The “Builder” newsletter was awarded a first place recognition from the College Fraternity Editors' Association.

As I look to the future and beginning of the next 40 years for the FarmHouse Foundation, I am truly excited about our plans and progress, and I am grateful for your support and commitment in joining me in our effort to be “Builders of Men.”
