A message from the Chairman

Once again, despite a lackluster economy, our members demonstrated tremendous generosity during 2010-11. Thanks to your unwavering support, the FarmHouse Foundation had a record-breaking fundraising year, and was able to provide the necessary financial support for leadership programs, scholarships, and other critical needs of our chapters.

Approximately 1,600 of you contributed $1,381,268 to the FarmHouse Foundation in 2010-11, including an impressive $914,523 in unrestricted support (Annual Fund, Foundation Councils, and Building Funds), $266,571 to endowment funds, and $196,064 to temporarily restricted funds.

Thanks to you, the Foundation was able to provide grants totaling $347,449 for the following purposes:

• $128,994 for leadership training and educational programs;
• $122,824 for educational portions of chapter houses;
• $9,082 for chapter computers and technology;
• $38,489 for 69 members for scholarships;
• $4,459 for foundation councils to use for educational purposes; and
• $43,600 for support of the International Fraternity.

In April 2011, the Foundation held its 5th annual Power of Seven Seminar in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Power of Seven Seminar is an award winning program that brings together seven distinguished alumni, seven outstanding undergraduates, and members of the Foundation Board of Trustees and the International Board. The group discussed key issues and trends that impact key sectors of our economy today, including agriculture, healthcare, real estate, the automotive industry, energy and the financial sector. The group also focused on career and leadership development. As in previous years, the quality of the undergraduates involved in the forum was outstanding. The legacy of FarmHouse is certainly in capable hands.

On behalf of the FarmHouse Foundation, I would like to thank all of you for your generosity and support over the last year. Your decision to support the Foundation has helped FarmHouse advance its unique and important mission: Building the Leaders of Tomorrow. I am inspired by your commitment to FarmHouse and honored to serve as Chairman of the Foundation Board. I look forward to an even more successful 2012.
